Product Description | The pan-specific anti-acetyl lysine monoclonal antibody is developed using hybridoma technology and is affinity purified with acetyl-lysine agarose. It recognizes both free acetyl-lysine and acetyl-lysine residues in proteins or peptides. |  Chicken erythrocyte histones were separated by triton-acetic acid-ureapolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. (1) non-treated and (2) Sodium butyrate (5 mM) treated. Each lane contained 20 ug of total protein. PVDF membrane was probed with mouse monoclonal antibody (ICP0390), which was further detected with goat anti-mouse HRP secondary antibody. | |

Scientific Description | DNA transcription cannot take place unless DNA is unwound from the nucleosomes. The cell unwinds the DNA by acetylating lysine residues within the proteins. It has been suggested that acetylation of non-histone proteins (e.g., transcription factors) and histones may be involved. Acetylation of these proteins may result in signal transduction within the chromatic domains. | ||
Storage & Stability | Product is stable for 30 days at room temperature. For extended storage, store product at –20ºC. Expiration date is one year from date of shipping if properly stored. | ||
